“期刊存储”与“Google图书”

1.期刊存储（http://www.jstor.org）

在网络搜索英文期刊一般采用“期刊存储”（JSTOR）。“期刊存储”的全名为Journal Storage，于1995年8月成立。JSTOR是一个对期刊进行数字化的工程，主要以人文及社会科学方面的期刊为主，从创刊号到最近三至五年前过刊都可阅览PDF格式的全文。有些过刊的回溯年代早至1665年。国内某些大学图书馆参与了JSTOR系统，可以在该系统免费访问和阅读。校外个人也可以免费从网际网络访问。

该库覆盖的学科领域包括： Anthropology、Architecture、Art、Ecology、Economics、Education、Finance、General Science、History、Literature、Law、Mathematics、Philosophy、Political Science、Population Studies、Psychology、Public Policy & Administration、 Sociology、Statistics、African American Studies、Asian Studies等。

第一，进入http://books.google.com

第二，先输入Understanding John Dewey: nature and cooperative intelligence并搜索。搜索之后，你就可以看到有关Understanding John Dewey: nature and cooperative intelligence这本书的页面。

第三，打开Understanding John Dewey: nature and cooperative intelligence的网址，你将进入：

虽然并不是每一本书都能在http://books.google.com这里找到可以阅读的页面，但是这里有大量的英文书的原著的PDF。

比如，你在刘北成编著的《福柯思想肖像》或李银河著的《福柯与性》中发现The Passion of Michael Foucaul（Miller著）不断被引用，你想阅读The Passion of Michael Foucaul的原著，那么，你就可以在http://books.google.com搜索。
